Sangwon Yoon is a government reporter for Bloomberg News in Seoul, South Korea.

Yoon has worked at The Associated Press in Seoul where she covered North Korea as well as South Korean politics, economy, and sports. Previously she worked for Reuters in Jerusalem where she reported on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. She has written for Newsweek International and assisted production of CNN’s weekly news show Marketplace Middle East.

Most recently Yoon worked as a producer at Al Jazeera English in Doha, Qatar, covering the inter-Korean conflict, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the Arab Spring.

Yoon was a Presidential Honors Scholar at New York University where she graduated magna cum laude in Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies with a minor in Politics. She also studied at Oxford University’s St. Catherine’s College as a Registered Visiting Student. There she studied comparative modern Arabic and Hebrew literatures and political philosophy.

She, a South Korean national, speaks fluent Korean, French and Hebrew as well as proficient Arabic.
